A delicious choice in Appetizer Recipes for your Holiday Table would be the Baked Brie in Puff Pastry... Creamy and delicious spread on Fresh Crostini made fresh.

1 Frozen Puff Pastry Sheet, thawed

1/4 cup Strawberry Jam or Apricot Jam

1 round (13.2 ounces) Brie Cheese or Camembert Cheese

1 large egg

1 tablespoon water

1 Apple, sliced

You can find the dough pretty much in all the groceries. Follow directions for unwrapping.

Roll out dough into a 14" square. Spread either the strawberry jam or apricot jam into a 4 1/2 inch circle in center of puff pastry.

Place the brie cheese or camembert cheese in center.

... so far it's pretty easy hey...

Beat together egg and water, to brush dough with.

For a flare, place cheese ball up right on baking sheet and fold pastry together making a little-fluted-puff for decoration, seal with the egg and water mixture. I use this method, I kind of like the look of the outcome doing the puff pastry this way. Besides it much easier too!

If you want something more flatter, fold dough over cheese and trim off any excess, pinch edges to seal.

Beat together egg and water, brush dough with mixture.

Place your puff pastry covered cheese ball seam side down on an ungreased baking sheet.

Use your excess dough and cut it into decorative shapes, place on top brush with egg mixture.

Bake at 400 F for 20 - 25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

Place your Baked Brie on a decorative plate with Apple Slices, serve warm with your favorite crackers or a sliced fresh french bread or a baguette.

Serves 8 - 10

This Baked Brie is absolutely delicious served with fresh Crostini.

1 loaf of Italian bread, (ciabatta bread or olive bread), cut into 1/2 inch slices on diagonal

2 tablespoons extra virgin italian olive oil

1 large clove of fresh garlic, peeled and cut in half

parmigiano reggiano (parmesan cheese), freshly grated

Brush cut italian bread lightly on both sides with extra virgin Italian Olive Oil.

On large baking sheet, place prepared and sliced ciabatta bread.

Place cookie sheet on middle rack in a preheated 425 F oven. Bake for about 5 - 10 minutes, turning half way through. Or until lightly golden brown. Watch carefully as they can burn quickly, I've had mine burn on me when I haven't been paying attention!

While your Crostini are still hot, rub gently with your fresh garlic clove, sprinkle lightly with parmigiano reggiano on each if desired.

Using spoon, spread on top on your Crostini and place on serving dish or platter and serve warm. Enjoy!

Makes about 15 -20 appetizers, depending on how thick you slice your bread.
