Turkey Stuffing With
Fresh Garden Herbs

There is nothing like a Roast Turkey with fresh Turkey Stuffing. I like using fresh Garden Herbs, the flavors are wonderful. I got this Stuffing Recipe from my Grandma and have been making this favorite side dish recipes since I can remember. Of course I've changed it a bit and made it our family's favorite. There's nothing like homemade Turkey Stuffing with Roast Turkey, Mashed Potatoes and a Creamy Turkey Gravy Recipe.


The Turkey's Roasting in the oven and everyone's enjoying the smells coming from the kitchen, how about relaxing with a few favoritesfrom Appetizer Recipes while waiting? The Baked Brie in Puff Pastry, or the excellent Stuffed Mushrooms with Baked Ham, both are tasty choices. For an extra special treat, a Martini would be absolutely delicious!


1 cup butter

1 large white onion, chopped

2 cups celery hearts, chopped

10 large fresh sage leaves, chopped

2 sprigs of fresh rosemary, chopped

2 sprigs of fresh marjoram, chopped

2-3 sprigs of fresh oregano, chopped

7 cups chicken stock

2 loaves French Bread or Italian Ciabatta Bread, sliced and cut into 1/2 inch cubes

1 teaspoon table salt

4 teaspoons fresh ground pepper corns

1 tablespoon poultry seasoning

On two large baking sheets place cubed French Bread or Ciabata Bread and spread evenly over baking sheets.

Bake in preheated 350 F oven until dry. About 5 - 10 minutes. Do not brown too much, we just want it to be dry.

Remove from oven and set aside to cool.

In a large pan on stove, melt butter, add onions and celery and cook over medium heat until onions are translucent, about 10 minutes.

Add sage, rosemary, marjoram and oregano and stir to combine, cook 3 to 4 minutes.

Add 1/2 cup stock, and stir well. Cook for about 5 minutes, until liquid has reduced by half.

In large mixing bowl, add dried bread cubes and onion mixture stirring well.

Add salt, pepper and remaining chicken stock and mix until well combined. Mixture should be moist, add a bit of water or more stock if necessary. Stuff your bird.

There is nothing like a fresh homemade Turkey Stuffing. I don't know about you, but the stuffing is probably one of my favorites, heated up with some leftover roast turkey on a fresh kaiser bun and dipped into some gravy, delicious for a light dinner recipe, with one of the Salad Recipes the Classic Caesar Salad would be a great!
