Strawberry Sauce and Whipped Cream

One excellent choice in Dessert Recipes would have to be the Strawberry Shortcake With Strawberry Sauce and Whipped Cream Piled onto A Light Angel Food Cake is one winning favorite in Easy Desserts.
This has got to be one of my favorites in Dessert Recipes to make and serve up to those smiling faces. I know that traditional Strawberry Shortcake is made with a biscuit or pound cake, but I find that the Angel Food Cake is a nice change and not so heavy on the tummy after a wonderful Meal. I have also made this recipe with the Frozen Strawberries instead of the fresh but I learned the hard way that that Fresh Strawberries is the best when making up a perfect Strawberry Sauce.
For a dinner menu, I like to serve up the Glazed Baked Ham with Pineapple and Mustard Sauce. For great pick in side dish recipes, how about one of the fantastic Salad Recipes. 1 package angel food cake or sponge cake
3 pints strawberries, cleaned and halved, stems removed
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 pint whipped cream
Place large metal mixing bowl and beaters in freezer to chill.
Wash and clean strawberries, cut in half and place in a large mixing bowl. And 2 tablespoons of white sugar stirring until well combined. Chill in fridge until ready to use. As the Strawberries sit and marinate in the sugar, a wonderful syrupy juice will appear, Yummy!
Prepare and bake Angel Food Cake according to package directions, using a10 inch tube pan.
Remove from oven when baked and invert onto wire rack to cool completely, about 1 hour.
2 pounds fresh strawberries, chopped
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 lemons juiced or 4 tablespoons lemon juice
In a large saucepan, combine strawberries, brown sugar and lemon juice and bring to a simmer over medium low heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
Cover partially with lid and simmer until strawberries are softened and release juices, about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool.
Pour Strawberries into blender and blend until smooth.
Using a sieve or fine mesh strainer, press sauce through into a large storage container with lid.
Strawberry Sauce will keep for 10 days in the refrigerator or up to 6 months in the freezer.
Build Your Strawberry Shortcake:
Remove large chilled metal mixing bowl and beaters from freezer, pour in Whipping Creamand 2 teaspoons white sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form.
Cut Angel Food Cake into serving pieces about 4 inches wide. Place on individual serving plates.
Remove sliced strawberries with white sugar from fridge and spoon over Angel Food Cake.
Spoon Whipped Cream over top of sliced Strawberries.
Drizzle with Strawberry Sauce.
Makes 8 - 10 servings.
