Breakfast Quiche with Pancetta
and Swiss Cheese
With Italian Sausage, Pancetta, Green Onions, Mushrooms, Gruyere and Swiss Cheese mixed together and baked in a Crispy Crust of Hash Browns is a great choice in Breakfast Recipes to serve that hungry brood!
This Breakfast Quiche is a excellent choice in Breakfast Recipes to serve your friends and family for a great Brunch. Very easy to make and the Crispy Crust made with Hash Browns can be made up ahead the night before for a winner in timesavers.
I like using the Pancetta in this tasty recipe with Italian Sausage mixed in with Gruyere Cheese and Swiss Cheese for a super delicious extra flavor boost. Use your imagination a switch it up with either Bacon or leftover Baked Ham.
This great Quiche is fantastic to serve up for a Sunday get together or during any Holiday Season for a favorite in Brunch Recipes. A Great choice to add to your breakfast table for even the pickiest of eaters!
6 cups hash brown potatoes, frozen
2/3 cups butter, melted
1 cup pork or italian sausage
1 cup bacon or pancetta, diced
1 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded
1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
1 cup fresh mushrooms, chopped
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
1/4 cup fresh dill weed, chopped
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
Preheat oven to 425 F
Place frozen hash brown potatoes in sieve to let drain. Squeeze moisture from potatoes and place in medium mixing bowl. Pour melted butter over potatoes and combine well. Press into large 13 X 9 baking pan.
Place pan into oven and bake for about 20 - 25 minutes until crispy and golden brown. Remove from oven.
In medium skillet, add bacon or pancetta and cook until almost crispy, about 10 minutes on medium heat. Add pork or Italian sausage and brown until crumbly and bacon or pancetta has crisped up, about 5 - 10 minutes. Remove from skillet using slotted spoon and place over top off crispy hash browns.
Add mushrooms to the skillet that you have just removed your meat mixture and saute mushrooms until moisture has evaporated and mushrooms have caramelized. Remove from heat and place over top of meat and hash browns in baking dish.
In medium size mixing bowl, beat together eggs and whipping cream with wire whisk. Add Gruyere cheese, Swiss cheese, green onions, dill weed and salt and pepper to taste mixing until well combined. Pour over meat and mushroom mixture.
Return baking dish to oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until egg mixture has set and wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Makes 10 servings.
