Rich Flaky Pastry Recipe
2 cups All purpose Flour

1/4 teaspoon table Salt

1/4 teaspoon Baking Powder

2 tablespoons Sugar

1/4 cup Crisco Shortening

1/2 cup Butter

About 9 tablespoons ice cold water

Stir flour, salt, baking powder and sugar together, Cut in Crisco Shortening and butter with pastry blender until mixture is crumbled.

Add ice water, a little at a time, using just enough to bind mixture so that dough can be patted lightly to form a ball. Handle as Little as Possible. Roll out into a large circle.

This pastry recipe will make 3 single pastry shells or 1 double and 1 single shell or 1 1/2 dozen medium-size tart shells.

Filling
2 15-ounce can pure pumpkin

1 1/3 cups (packed) golden brown sugar

1 1/3 cups whipping cream

2/3 cup whole milk

4 large eggs

1/2 cup white sugar

2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon table salt

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice


Praline Recipe
1 cup pecans

2/3 cup golden brown sugar

6 tablespoons butter, softened


In large mixing bowl, whisk together pumpkin, brown sugar, whipping cream milk and eggs, whisking until well combined.

Add white sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, salt and allspice and whisk together until creamy and well combined.

Pour into 2 pie crusts.

Bake for about 35 minutes.

Meanwhile make Praline Recipe, combine pecans, brown sugar and butter in food processor until blended.

Remove Pie from oven and sprinkle Praline Recipe over pies and return to oven.

Bake for additional 20 minutes or until tops are a nice caramel color and bubbly.

Transfer to rack and cool before serving.

Can be made up to 6 hours ahead. Let stand at room temperature.

Makes 2 Pies. Serve and Enjoy with fresh Whipped Cream.
