French Toast with Gruyere Cheese

8 slices french bread, cut extra thick
4 slices Canadian Bacon
4 slices Gruyere Cheese or Swiss Cheese
1 large egg
1/2 cup French Vanilla Creamer
confectioners sugar or icing sugar
1 pint freshly whipped cream
1/4 cup strawberry jam
Butter all the french bread slices and place 1 slice of each of Canadian bacon and gruyere cheese, on top of 4 slices of french bread and cover with remaining slices of french bread.
In shallow dish, beat egg and creamer.
Dip sandwiches into egg mixture.
Using a hot griddle or large non-stick pan or melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a regular skillet, cook sandwiches for 2 - 3 minutes each side.
When golden brown and gruyere cheese has melted, remove from pan.
Plate each sandwich, top with strawberry jam and whipped cream. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
Serve with a Fresh Fruit Salad or sliced Bananas and Smiles will turn into Grins!
