Baked Brie In Puff Pastry

Oh My... One Excellent Pick for Creativity and Packed with Flavor for A Party Food Favorite... You just may have to make two of these Dazzlers in Appetizer Recipes... The Secret is the Strawberry Jam hidden in the middle... YUMMY!







This melt in your mouth Baked Brie is a favorite at our gatherings for sure! Wrapped in a delicate Puff Pastry crust that's so flaky with Strawberry Jam hidden in the centre for a sweet surprise, I would say this is one excellent pick in Party Food in Appetizer Recipes.





A mouth-watering flaky delight for one easy recipe in a quick put together. Whenever I make this favorite Party Food, I get the question, "you've fussed for hours, right"? Of course the answer is "no," when the guests find out this tasty pick only takes a few minutes to prepare, they all want the recipe!


Instead of serving the usual ho-hum plain-ole-cheese-'n-crackers, the crisp flakiness and creamy inside of this Baked Brie is a fantastic change and your crackers are no longer ho-hum to Dig into this creamy favorite with. Serve with one of the fabulous Martini Recipes, the Grape Juice Martini for a fun Night!


This Baked Brie will definitely surprise you! Made with Strawberry Jam or Apricot Jam for a change, this appetizer will be on the top of everyone's list for a request at your next get together. Great for a starter for the Holiday Season with one of the excellent picks in the Holiday Recipes.


1 Frozen Puff Pastry Sheet, thawed

1/4 cup Strawberry Jam or Apricot Jam

1 round (13.2 ounces) Brie Cheese or Camembert Cheese

1 large egg

1 tablespoon water

1 Apple, sliced
You can find the dough pretty much in all the groceries. Follow directions for unwrapping.

Roll out dough into a 14" square. Spread either the strawberry jam or apricot jam into a 4 1/2 inch circle in center of puff pastry.

Place the Brie cheese or Camembert cheese in center.

... so far it's pretty easy hey...

Beat together egg and water, to brush dough with.

For a flare, place cheese ball up right on baking sheet and fold pastry together making a little-fluted-puff for decoration, seal with the egg and water mixture. I use this method, I kind of like the look of the outcome doing the puff pastry this way. Besides it much easier too!

If you want something more flatter, fold dough over cheese and trim off any excess, pinch edges to seal.

Beat together egg and water, brush dough with mixture.

Place your puff pastry covered cheese ball seam side down on an ungreased baking sheet.

Use your excess dough and cut it into decorative shapes, place on top brush with egg mixture.

Bake at 400 F for 20 - 25 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
Place your Baked Brie on a decorative plate with Apple Slices, serve warm with your favorite crackers or a sliced fresh french bread or a baguette.

Serves 8 - 10
